Connecting to arenanet - Guild Wars Forums

Ever since I closed gw to get the new update, my guildwars will not connect to arenanet. I have tried restarting my computer, and waiting half an hour with the "Connecting To Arenanet" thing up. I dont even make it to the login screen. My internet still works, no firewalls settings etc have changed. Please help

I had the same issue with GW this morning. I opened it and it said access was denied. So all I did was right click on the GW icon on my desktop and clicked on "Run as administrator" and everything was fine after that.

I and another guildie have a similar problem. We logged out for the new update and couldnt get back in as both our passwords were refused.I'll try again tonight after work.

In any other game I would say contact support.

In this game I would say wait for lazynet to patch or do whatever they dont do.

Corrupted data file? If you have patience/bandwidth, you could try redownloading the game (check rest of guru about it, but I think you have to remove the .dat file)

No, if your .dat file is corrupt the client can still connect, but it will attempt to repair it by downloading again.

Unfortunately I can't help with the problem, but a corrupt .dat file does not stop you from connecting.

Naw I dont even make it to the login screen unfortuently... reinstalling guildwars at the moment hopefully it works.
